What is agreed at the Meeting between the minister of communications of BiH and the minister of internal affairs of Macedonia?

The minister of communications and transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Ismir Jusko and the minister of internal affairs of Macedonia Oliver Spasovski signed an agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the government of Macedonia about the mutual recognition and exchange of drivers’ licenses.

As a part of the official bilateral visit to Macedonia, Jusko and the ministry secretary Igor Pejić held a meeting with a delegation of the Macedonian Ministry of Transport and Connections, headed by minister Goran Sugareski.

At the meeting, the flight between Skopje and Sarajevo was initiated and the undertaking of further activities related to the opening of the flight was agreed to.

Successful cooperation between the two countries in the field of road transport was emphasized, especially the signed agreement between the two ministries regarding the elimination of licenses for the transport of goods, the signing of which was partially cause by the increase trade between the two countries.

Also emphasized was the need to increase cooperation of the regulatory bodies in the field of railroads in order to increase rail transport.

The question of the accession of BiH to the Transport Union, which created the basis for new forms of regional cooperation in all forms of transport except air transport, which will be regulated bilaterally, was analyzed.

Opportunities for cooperation and coordination of activities regarding the Adriatic-Ionic Highway were analyzed, which led to the conclusion that there exists a mutual interest for an expedited realization of the project and the undertaking of mutual activities.

At the sidelines of the official bilateral meeting with minister Sugareski, minister Ismir Jusko and the minister of internal affairs of Macedonia Spasovski signed an agreement regarding the mutual recognition and exchange of drivers’ licenses, which covers two the countries’ citizens who are legally residing in the other country.
