Mayor of the Municipality of Istocno Novo Sarajevo Ljubisa Cosic in an informal conversation with the Minister of Utilities Economy and Infrastructure of Canton Sarajevo Senad Hasanspahic agreed that two municipal water utilities – Water Supply and Sewerage of East Sarajevo and the Water Supply and Sewerage of Sarajevo make a mutual agreement on the water supply in Canton Sarajevo, as confirmed by Mayor Cosic.

He noted that the agreement should be realized these days and that it is an agreement that is “firm” and includes the delivery of all the water surpluses that the Water Supply and Sewerage of East Sarajevo realizes at the spring Tilava to the Water Supply and Sewerage of Sarajevo.

“The delivery will take place through a reconstructed pipeline that passes through the Mojmilo and goes to Hrasno,” said Mayor Cosis, who expressed his satisfaction with the reached agreement.

“At the meeting with the representatives of the Water Supply and Sewerage of Sarajevo we agreed to start with rinsing of the pipeline, after which will be defined the quantities that East Sarajevo will transport to Water Supply and Sewerage of Sarajevo. Rinsing of the pipeline has already started, and after that will be signed the agreement between the two water companies, within which will be defined the amount of water and the price” stated Mayor Katic.

He stated that rinsing of the pipeline will last until Sunday, after which Water Supply and Sewerage of Sarajevo will have to conduct the sampling of water, which will be followed by the signing of the agreement with the Water Supply and Sewerage of Sarajevo.

When it comes to the amount of water that PE Water Supply and Sewerage of East Sarajevo can deliver to Sarajevo, Katic said that it is 50-60 liters per second.
