prijedorThe Senate of the University of Sarajevo supported the initiative of the Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo (SPUS), with which is foreseen marking of the 31st of May, which was declared as the Day of commemoration of the war crime that was committed against non-Serb population in Prijedor.

The initiative states that all organizational units and faculties are ordered to display white sheets on entrance door or other visible places in memory of the victims of Prijedor.

During the war, non-Serbs from Prijedor were killed, tortured, starved and imprisoned in concentration camps, including Trnopolje, Omarska and Manjaca.

Many women were raped.

Apart from Prijedor, the White Armband Day is marked in several cities of BiH, as well as in Europe and around the world.
