The US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Michael Murphy, paid tribute to all the victims of Nazism and fascism during World War II in Jasanovac today, on Holocaust Remembrance Day.

“Today, on the U.S. National Day of Holocaust Remembrance, we pay respects to all those who lost their lives at Jasenovac and to all the victims of Nazism and fascism during World War II. It is incumbent on all of us, but especially on the leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to acknowledge the facts and honor the victims,” wrote Murphy on Twitter.

He emphasized that acknowledgment of the past, no matter how painful, is essential to reconciliation, and it is crucial for preventing future atrocities.
