The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Akhtar Jamil Rao, visited the City Administration of Zenica today, where he discussed the possibility of cooperation between that city and Pakistani entrepreneurs with Mayor Fuad Kasumović.

Ambassador Rao thanked Mayor Kasumović, as well as the citizens of Zenica, for the help that was sent from that city in mid-September last year for the damages and victims of the devastating floods that affected that country. On that occasion, the City of Zenica sent 10,000 KM to Pakistan.

“This support, which the City of Zenica provided to the people of Pakistan, is highly appreciated and the people are familiar with this support. That was one of the reasons I came here, to personally thank the mayor,” said the Pakistani Ambassador.

“People of Pakistan will return help and everything that the people of Zenica showed with this gesture,” emphasized Rao, who underlined that his mission is to develop good relations between the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and his homeland.

He pointed out that they had a fruitful discussion on improving the relations between Pakistan and Zenica.

“There are many opportunities for investors from Pakistan and entrepreneurs from Pakistan can find many opportunities here in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Many of them are already working with countries from the European Union, and we can continue with these projects and work on enhancing the cooperation between Pakistani entrepreneurs and the City of Zenica,” said Rao.

Kasumović emphasized that it was a “great honor and pleasure” for him that the ambassador of Pakistan visited Zenica, which is “a friendly and fraternal country with Bosnia and Herzegovina”, and that the city of Zenica wanted to thank the support sent after last year’s floods for the help that came to Bosnia and Herzegovina from Pakistan in the 1990s when we were surrounded by aggression from various sides.

He added that they discussed cooperation between the two countries, but with an emphasis on increasing the economic development of the City of Zenica.

“We agreed that in the coming period we will hold a Business Forum here for investors from Pakistan, Zenica and the Zenica-Doboj Canton, to join together and start opening business facilities,” said Mayor Kasumović.
