Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bosnia and Herzegovina Vilajat Gulijev and First Secretary of the Embassy Elmar Aghasiyev visited the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina (NUB BiH) today.

The Director of NUB BiH, Ismet Ovčina, informed the guests about the work of this institution and reminded them of the good cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and especially of the extremely good relations with the National Library of Azerbaijan and the completed projects so far.

They also discussed the activities of the Library, the renewal of long-term cooperation and possible new projects in the field of research, publishing and promotion of common cultural and historical values.

Ovčina reminded the guests of the Cooperation Agreement signed by the National Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the National Library of Azerbaijan, which aims to exchange printed and electronic editions and other library materials that will contribute to the progress of cultural ties and promote the cultural heritage of the countries.

The guests also visited the Department of Special Collections, where they were introduced to the rich material of the NUB BiH Manuscript Collection, and especially several manuscripts by Azerbaijani authors Fuzuli and Nizami.

At the end, representative editions were exchanged, which will certainly enrich the fund of the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
