Ambassadors of Brazil and Malaysia plant linden trees in Sarajevo

Brazil_Aleja_ambasadoraYesterday, in Aleja ambasadora, the ambassadors of Brazil and Malaysia planted linden trees, after which they received certificates confirming this act which will be a permanent reminder of the day when they left their mark on this old promenade. These linden trees will grow next to the 163 trees that were previously planted.

Many ambassadors who have so far planted a tree have remembered the sayings of the three things that everyone should do in their life. This was no different for the Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Manoel Gomes Pereira.

“In Brazil, there is a saying that a man actually lived only if he had done three things: write a book, had a child and planted a tree. In my case I still hadn’t planted a tree, so thank you for this opportunity” said Ambassador Gomes-Pereira.

His colleague from Malaysia, Ambassador Bin Anuar Kasman, considered this act a symbolic way to plant not only wood, but also the friendship between BiH and Malaysia.

“I’ll tell all my friends in Malaysia to visit this place and see this tree that we planted today, because this is a reflection of the friendship between our two countries. I hope that this will attract tourists from Malaysia” said Ambassador Kasman.

Mayor Hadžibajrić recalled that in the past seven years 88 linden trees were planted by ambassadors in BiH, and with these two today the total is now 90 trees.

“When we recently did a recapitulation of activities in Aleja ambasadora, we came to the conclusion that in my two terms 88 linden trees were planted. I hope that we will continue with this tradition and that the entire left side will be planted, which would mean that the project Aleja ambasadora is complete” said Mayor Hadžibajrić.
