Amel Tuka broke Balkan’s record at 800 meters last night in Ghent. This record was 30 years old, and our athlete achieved the time 1: 46.33.
“I just broke the 30 years old record. The former record holder was Predrag Melnjak, who set that record in Turin on February 10, 1988, during the former Yugoslavia. He ran 1: 46.40. I managed to outperform him and break the record,” said Tuka.
Tuka won the second place, while the first place went to Mostafa Samili from Morocco.
“This is my first race this year at 800 meters. I am very satisfied with the result,” noted Tuka.
