American Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzgovina, Patrick Moon commended the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to which, Mevlid Jašarević was sentenced to eighteen years in prison. In order to remind, Jašarević was sentenced for a terrorist attack on the American Embassy in Sarajevo.
” I am sure that we and the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina will carefully discuss the verdict and see if there will be need for further decisions. We would especially want to commend the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, presided by the Chief Prosecutor in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the prosecutor in charge of this case, as well as the whole staff of Prosecution. We also congratulate the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina on a successful verdict in this case of terrorism”- said Moon.
The Ambassador also added how entire US values the support of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout the entire case.
” We were very satisfied with the collaboration of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the authorities of the US, including the Agency for implementation of laws. We send out best wishes and thanks to Mirsad Velić who has been wounded during the attack. We thank the citizens and political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina for condemning this act of terrorism. We also thank them for their support, friendship and everything that happened after that day”- said Moon.
The Ambassador firmly said that the American Embassy and the US are here to stay, help and support Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.
