The match between the hosts Sea Wolves and Legionaries from Skremska Mitrovica opened last Saturday the second season of the regional Alpe -Adria league of American football.
Last year’s champion, the club of American football Maribor General will try to defend the title but they have a difficult task in front of them.
The league has progressed and expanded with new participants in comparison to last year. Thus, eight teams will fight for the trophy in the 2014 season. The teams are from Slovenia (Maribor Generals, Kranj Alp Devils), Croatia (Zagreb Patriots, Zagreb Raiders, Split Sea Wolves, Osijek Cannons), Serbia (Sremska Mitrovica Legionaries), and B&H is represented by Sarajevo Spartans.
Spartans with the excellent results and trophies that they have won in season 2013 attracted the attention of the clubs from the region, and have received an invitation to participate in a serious and challenging competition, such as Alpe -Adria League.
Spartans will have the first opportunity to show their skills, under the guidance of the coaches Carver and Wyland, on Saturday, 29 March, at the stadium in Butmir at 13:00, where they will host the team Kranj Alp Devils.
