An epidemic of the infectious disease measles has been declared in the Sarajevo Canton, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The document lists the measures that will be taken in order to suppress the epidemic.
According to the announcement, during the duration of the epidemic, the measures foreseen by the Law on the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases will be implemented.
The measures include education on the prevention of infectious diseases, early detection of the source of infection and ways of transmission, reporting and isolation of the sick, hospitalization and treatment, as well as increased immunization of children.
