Nansen Dialogue Center organized today in Sarajevo the conference “Education and dialogue ” in which the lecture on the topic “The role of teachers in the process of education” was held by the Norwegian Professor Inge Eidsvag.
The aim of the conference is to inform teachers and professors from Jajce, Sarajevo, Zvornik, Srebrenica and Bratunac on the education system based on the Norwegian model and through discussions to establish models which would give the best answers on the problems of integrated education in B&H.
“Besides the basic things such as writing, reading, mathematics, languages, there are very important things such as how to live in a multicultural society. Thus, these challenges are identical in B&H, Norway, Belgium, France, Great Britain and everywhere in the world”, said Eidsvag.
“Our primary goal is to find a model for overcoming the gap between different ethnic groups. We want to build a functional society. The biggest problem is in the rural areas of B&H because the parents choose the school based on ethnic principles”, said the organizer from Nansen Dialogue Center Sarajevo Ljuljjeta Goranci-Brkić.
It is very important for schools to cooperate with families from the beginning, emphasized Eidsvag and Goranci-Brkić.
