The prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against Slobodan Savić, known as “Zenica”, born in 1970 in Zenica, for war crimes against the civilian population and prisoners of war, committed in the Banjaluka Military-Investigative Prison, known as the Small Camp, in the period from April 1994 to December 1995, announced the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.

The accused had the capacity of a guard in the said facility, and the crimes committed refer to beatings, abuses and other inhuman acts committed against several victims, civilians and prisoners of war of Bosniak and Croat nationality.

The prosecutor’s office will prove the allegations of the indictment with the testimony of a significant number of witnesses, including victims who were detained in this facility, as well as by submitting several hundred pieces of evidence.

The defendant is charged with war crimes against the civilian population and war crimes against prisoners of war.

The indictment has been sent to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation, the statement added.
