The Federal Bureau of Statistics published data regarding the average net salaries for the year of 2016 as well as the average number of employees, which is an important economic indicator for observation and analysis of economic development.
The average net salary in the FBiH for 2016 amounted to 839 BAM.
The largest net salary was realized in Canton Sarajevo and it amounted to 1,018 BAM, after which follows Herzegovina-Neretva Canton with the average net salary in the amount of 928 BAM, Canton 10 with 848 BAM, Una-Sana Canton with 811 BAM, and West Herzegovina Canton with 759 BAM.
The lowest salary was recorded in Central Bosnia Canton and it amounted to 678 BAM, followed by Zenica-Doboj Canton with 730 BAM, Posavina Canton with 730 BAM, Canton Tuzla with 744 BAM and Bosnian-Podrinje Canton with 746 BAM.
If we consider municipalities in the FBiH, the largest average net salary was paid in the Municipality of Sarajevo and it amounted to 1.197 BAM, and it is followed by the Municipality Ravno with 1.161 BAM, the Municipality Novo Sarajevo with 1.115 BAM, Mostar City with 1.042 BAM, the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo with 1.027 KM, and Bosansko Grahovo with the average net salary in the amount of 1.006 BAM.
The lowest net salary was recorded in the municipality of Gracanica and it amounted to 541 BAM, followed by the municipality of Zepce in the amount of 545 BAM, municipality Tesanj with 571 BAM, municipality Citluk with 582 BAM, municipality Domaljevac-Samac 584 BAM, and municipality Visoko with a total of 593 BAM.
