mailPilot project of delivery of the package of “Express Mail” by drones was demonstrated by the Croatian Post Mostar as part of the SPARK Multirotor Challenge – Race of drones.

Through the project, which CP Mostar developed in cooperation with SPARK business park, Board Member of ID for marketing and development of the Croatian Post Mostar, Ivan Susac, launched the drone competition which was held in Mostar.

The drone with a package of “Express Mail” flew and followed the programmed route of flight. Upon arriving at the provided destination, drone released the package of “Express Mail” which landed at the space provided, and the drone returned to the starting position. This pilot project is designed to promote the new service, “Express Mail”, which was recently launched by the CP Mostar.

“Croatian Post Mostar is trying to follow development trends in logistics and we are planning further development of the service “Express Mail” by using the latest technology such as’ delivery by drone’. We believe that, together with SPARK, we have launched the idea that will bring new quality and speed in the future for our most demanding users. The fact that we have enough technological knowledge in BiH and the desire to present these opportunities gives us hope that we can create top quality service in the domestic market. This is only the first step,” said Mate Rupcic, the President of the CP Mostar.

The service “Express Mail” is available throughout BiH and it is based on the infrastructure of three postal operators with delivery deadline of 24 hours in all BH cities. Service will start operating from the 1st of October. By investing in the development of new services and products, the Croatian Post Mostar aims to create conditions for future development and to maintain positive business trends that they recorded in the previous year.

“We have seen a demonstration of delivery of the package of “Express Mail” through the programmed route and delivery of the package to the target position. We consider this as the first important step in the development of delivery technology by drones. This method certainly represents the future and the Croatian Post Mostar together with a partner SPARK Business Park will continue to develop and improve this kind of projects,” said Ivan Susac, Board member of ID for marketing and development.

Andrea Cordas, director of the company SPARK Business Park, said that they are happy because of the first delivery of the package by drone that they achieved with CP Mostar.

“We in the SPARK Group are fans of drones: we have representation if DJI drones, we are developing a prototype of delivery drones, as well as a software solution for automated video surveillance. We have a long conversations waiting for us in the future with the Croatian Post, and I believe that we will strengthen our partnership,” said Cordas.
