The 9th Sarajevo Business Forum, the leading business and investment conference in the Southeastern Europe, has recorded the biggest numbers so far in all of its program and organizational segments, it was said at the closing ceremony.

The 9th SBF hosted 1800 participants from 50 countries around the world, 250 projects were presented and 365 B2B meetings were held. This year, a record number of journalists reported from the conference which was attended by 371 accredited media representatives, up by 15% compared to the last year.

“I am pleased that we managed to use this SBF to send a message that we in the region look at each other as an opportunity rather than as a threat,” said Amer Bukvić, CEO of BBI Bank, at the closing ceremony of the 9th SBF and added that “next year, for the jubilee tenth edition, we, as organizers, will face a big challenge, which is to increase all of these numbers by at least 30%.”

He extended his gratitude to all of those who contributed to this year’s Sarajevo Business Forum.

“First, I must thank Cornelia Meyer for her excellent work as the host of this year’s Sarajevo Business Forum program. I would also like to thank the Presidency of BiH, which was the patron of this year’s Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF), our associates, the Islamic Development Bank, Islamic Bank of Abu Dhabi and Islamic Bank of Dubai for their support and suggestions, as well as other partners, sponsors and everyone who supported the SBF, ” Bukvić said.

He also thanked media sponsors as well as entire staff of BBI Bank for their contribution to the SBF.

“I am particularly grateful to our media sponsors and those who joined them by informing the world about the importance of investing in this region. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the dedicated team among the BBI staff,” Bukvić said.

At the end of his address, he expressed hope that all participants made the best use of the opportunities presented at this year’s Sarajevo Business Forum. “Networking is a continuous activity and we remain at your disposal throughout the year until the next SBF in 2019, in order to work together on looking for opportunities for investments. Thank you for being with us and see you again next year, ” Bukvić said.
