Analyst: Forces that want to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina are not Sleeping

The chief analyst for Europe at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Heather Conley, said that “the forces that want to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina are not sleeping.”

“While the attention of the United States and Europe is hampered, forces in BiH that want to split up BiH and have separate entities are not asleep and are not satisfied. They are working every day, and these are forces we must confront,” Conley said.

“They are working on it daily and those are the forces we must oppose,” Conley said.

Conley explained that the entities are “abusing this paralysis so they can begin changing the country and its nature from within.”

Conley was previously one of the top US diplomats for relations with Europe and Eurasia, N1 news portal reports. The Center for Strategic and International Studies is considered the best in the world for defense and national security analysis and analyzed developments in BiH to better inform members of Congress and decision-makers in the US.

“What is happening is that the entities are actually using this paralysis to start changing the country and the nature of the country from the inside. Surely the most proficient person is Mr. Milorad Dodik and Republika Srpska. We need to look at the post-Dayton need for the state to prosper, not to go backwards. But it’s so difficult to offer such a recommendation because we just don’t see political leadership, political will, “concludes Heather Conley, author of the report.
