The best karate fighter from Bosnia and Herzegovina and member of the Champion Karate Club Anes Bostandžić has qualified for the finals of the prestigious Karate One Premier League hosted by Leshan, China.

Currently ranked fifth in the world ranking list among the 32 best competitors in the +84 kg category, he has paved his way to the finals and the fight for the gold medal in the competition that represents the highest level of karate competition with excellent performances.

The brilliant Ilidžan player defeated Italian Fabio Mazzoleni in the first round, while in the following group stage of the competition he defeated Kazakh Ulbek Dias, and then eliminated Azerbaijani national team member Gurbanli Asiman in the quarterfinals with a score of 1:0.

An especially difficult task for Anes, who is in China accompanied by his coach Denis Muhović, was another difficult duel, this time against Italian competitor Ciani Michele. Although he was behind in the score until the very end (losing 1:0), Bostandžić managed to create a turnaround with an excellent performance and achieve an attractive 3:1 victory that brought him a place in the final.

After an extremely difficult and demanding competition day, in which he defeated four top opponents, Anesa will fight for the gold medal tomorrow at 5:40 p.m. local time, or 11:40 a.m. Central European time, and his opponent will be Chilean Rodrigo Rojas.

Finally, it is worth noting that this will be Bostandžić’s third final at the Premier League tournaments, of which there are four in one competition season, and it is the results from these tournaments, as well as from the world and continental championships, that count for the world ranking.

Bostandžić already owns one Premier League bronze, but tomorrow he will have the opportunity to expand his collection of medals from major competitions.
