Today marks the 28th anniversary of the tragic helicopter crash near Lake Prokoško, which killed 12 OHR and UN officials.
The Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina paid tribute to colleagues who lost their lives on this day while working tirelessly in the service of peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We remember with deep gratitude our colleagues whose lives were tragically cut short while working in the service of a better future for Bosnia and Herzegovina. We appreciate their dedication and sacrifice, and this continues to inspire us to undertake efforts to build a peaceful and prosperous country,” said High Representative Christian Schmidt.
The success and prosperity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he added, will be the best way to remember and honor our fallen colleagues.
“Today, our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones and we once again confirm our readiness to preserve the values for which they stood. The OHR remembers with deep respect the sacrifice of its colleagues and confirms its commitment to respecting the principles they stood for, which are peace, stability and a better future for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Schmidt.
