By laying flowers and paying tribute, today the anniversary of the battle was marked at the Proskok site in Bjelašnica, which was marked as the battle of the first line of defense where the aggressor had one goal, cutting off Sarajevo and putting it in a complete environment.

In the fighting that lasted for 20 days, nearly 100 members of the RBiH Army were killed, and 500 were lightly and seriously wounded.

“The fact that the capture operation was personally led by the Hague indictee Ratko Mladić, shows how important this area was, and the cutting of the main corridor across Mount Igman. Brave members of the 182nd Cavalry (Foča) Light Brigade fought for this location until their last breath, and we owe them all immense gratitude. We need to talk more and more often about the battles fought for this area, so that the heroes and martyrs from the Proskok hill will be remembered by future generations. It is our obligation and duty to remember and pass on, the culture of memory must be stronger than the culture of forgetting,” said the Minister of Veteran Affairs of the CS Omer Osmanović, according to the statement of the Government of the CS.
