Annual Inflation in BiH in July 4.8 Percent

Consumer prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by an average of 4.8 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages rose in price on average by 10.8 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 3.7 percent, housing and overhead expenses by 1.4 percent, furniture, household appliances and regular home maintenance by 1 percent, healthcare by 6.1 percent, communications by 0.3 percent, recreation and culture by 4.9 percent, education by 1.9 percent, restaurants and hotels by 7.5 percent, and other goods and services by 3.8 percent.

The average drop in prices was recorded for clothing and footwear by 5.3 percent and transportation by 3.2 percent, according to data from the BiH Statistics Agency.

On a monthly basis, in July compared to the previous month of this year, prices increased by 0.2 percent on average.

On average, prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 0.6 percent, housing and overhead expenses by 0.3 percent, furniture, household appliances and regular home maintenance by 0.2 percent, healthcare by 0.3 percent, transportation by 2.2 percent, recreation and culture by 0.7 percent, restaurants and hotels by 0.6 percent, and other goods and services by 0.4 percent.

In July, compared to the previous month of this year, the average price of food and non-alcoholic beverages fell by 0.3 percent and clothing and footwear by 2.7 percent.
