alijaBosniaks Cultural Community in Belgium organized the academy in Antwerp “With great God we swear that we will not be slaves,” on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the death of the first president of the Republic of B&H, Alija Izetbegovic.

The Academy was named after a famous quotation from Izetbegovic before the Serbian aggression on B&H in 1992, which became a great motive for patriots in B&H to stand in defense of our country, although they had far stronger and better equipped enemy.

Member of the Parliament of B&H Semsudin Mehmedovic spoke at the Academy of Antwerp, and told that it is very important for Bosniaks to remember the character and work of Izetbegovic, because he is the man who dedicated all his life for fight for freedom of Bosniaks through the construction of a democratic society in B&H, in which he imagined freedom for all the other people who live in the country as well.
