Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons, Mr. Mohamed Arkab, received on Monday at the Ministry’s headquarters, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Elmedin Konaković, who is paying a working visit to Algeria. The meeting was attended by H.E. the Ambassador of Algeria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as officials from both sides.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the current state and prospects of cooperation relations between the two countries. Both parties praised the strength of the historic friendship ties linking Algeria and Bosnia and Herzegovina, reaffirming their shared determination to strengthen bilateral partnership in the hydrocarbons sector in a manner that serves their mutual interests.

Discussions focused on ways to develop cooperation in the oil and gas industry through exploring investment and partnership opportunities between the institutions of both countries, as well as strengthening trade relations, particularly in the field of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) marketing, and expanding areas of industrial cooperation related to the hydrocarbons value chain.

The two sides also discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation and encouraging partnerships between enterprises, particularly in the manufacturing of equipment and machinery related to the hydrocarbons industry, in a way that contributes to strengthening industrial capacities and promoting local integration.

Both parties stressed the importance of knowledge and technology transfer, the exchange of expertise, and the development of training programmes aimed at enhancing human capacities in the hydrocarbons sector, in line with the transformations taking place in this field at the international level.

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed his country’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Algeria in the hydrocarbons sector, reaffirming his commitment to supporting initiatives that would broaden areas of economic partnership between the two countries.
