This morning, there was an armed attack on the state hospital in the Bahçelievler district of Istanbul, causing great panic among patients and staff. In this incident, five people were injured, while the windows of the hospital were broken, and the ambulance was damaged.

According to available information from the Turkish media, a group of attackers arrived this morning in front of the emergency department of the hospital and randomly opened fire. Among the injured are a policeman, a member of the gendarmerie, a private security guard and two civilians. The armed attack caused material damage to the hospital and the ambulance that was in front of the building.

In the statement of the governor of Istanbul, it was pointed out that none of the injured were life-threatening. The injured, including a policeman, a member of the gendarmerie, a private security guard and two civilians, were immediately given emergency medical care. Their state of health has stabilized, according to the statement.

The police immediately launched an extensive investigation to identify and arrest the attackers. The vehicle used in the attack was found abandoned, and security cameras in the area are being reviewed to gather additional evidence. The search for the perpetrators is ongoing, and the police appeals to the citizens, if they have any information, to submit it to the competent authorities.
