In the last period, the Air Force and Air Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved important steps in the field of military professional training of deficit personnel.
Lieutenant Armin Adžem, a member of the 2nd helicopter squadron of the ZS Brigade and PZO, recently successfully completed a five-month Instrumental Airport Control course and a two-and-a-half-month Approach Control Procedures course in the Republic of Italy. The training was fully conducted in accordance with the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and EU air traffic control standards and was aimed at perfecting the operational techniques of airspace control.
Thus, Lieutenant Adžem became the first certified air traffic controller in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina who completed the courses that mean that the holder of the title is qualified according to ICAO standards to provide air navigation control at an airport that has equipment for instrument approach or instrument departure procedures, as well as air traffic control space without the use of radar.
Also, a member of the 2nd helicopter squadron, Captain Semir Tica, successfully completed the Inter-European Aviation Squadron Officer School, which he attended for one month in the Federal Republic of Germany. The main theme of this course is teamwork, leadership and relationships between leader and follower.
The participants of the training were officers and non-commissioned officers, members of different genders and origins of NATO member countries and partner countries from Europe and Africa. The course was completed by 43 participants from 19 countries, and Captain Semir Tica was recognized as the best participant of the course.
With this, the ZS Brigade and the PZO of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina received another future commander trained according to high NATO standards, and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina once again proved that they have personnel that can be measured equally with the most developed armies in the world.
