Last nights protest at Spanish Square in Mostar, where around 100 citizens gathered, marked last nights conviction of the informal leader of the Mostar protests Muharem Hindić Mušic.
He was released from police custody yesterday at around 14:00, after which the youth center OKC Abrašević held a press conference. He alleged that the police beat him during and after apprehension, and that he was denied the most basic human rights while in custody, due to which he felt like an inmate.
“I was a hostage, not a prisoner”, said Hindić.
The Ministry of Interior of Herzegovina Neretva Canton launched criminal proceedings against Hindić for assaulting an official. Hindić and representatives of the Plenum of Mostar announced criminal charges against the police for brutal treatment.
During last nights protests, they announced the launch of a series of legal measures for obtaining approval for a protest walk in Mostar.
The protest gathering ended at 18:00, when another Plenum began.
The protests are announced for today at 17:00.
