The Association of Generals of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a press release today regarding the decision of the Appellate Council of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina which confirmed the acquittal previously pronounced against Ramiz Dreković, stating that it is another victory for truth and justice.
“Today, after almost five years of process, we welcomed with great satisfaction the decision of the Appellate Council of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejecting the appeal of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the acquittal verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, general and wartime commander of the 4th Corps of the Army of the Republic of BiH, Ramiz Dreković,” it is stated in the statement.
The Association of Generals, at the same time, points out that this is another victory for truth and justice, as well as another proof that members of the Army neither ordered nor carried out systematic crimes during the 1992-1995 Defense-Liberation War.
“Only General Dreković and all unjustly accused defenders of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina know what kind of calvary they went through and are going through the trial process, but through this final acquittal, his innocence and the purity of our struggle have been proven,” it is stated.
The Association of BiH Generals underlines that the legal battle for the truth is not over, and they tell everyone that they will not succeed in trying to equalize the honorable defenders and the aggressors.
“Hereby, on behalf of the Association of Generals of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we thank everyone who provided any kind of support to our General Dreković in the multi-year court process, and we acknowledge the panels of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for acting in accordance with the law and laws,” the statement states.
