Awards for Heroes and Fighters for this City awarded in the City Hall

6th April awardOn the occasion of 6th April, Day of the City of Sarajevo, a solemn session of the City Council with the appropriate cultural and musical program and a ceremony of the awarding the  6th April Award and other recognitions to individuals and associations for their selfless activism that helped the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Was held in the City Hall.

This is the Day that marks 70 years of the liberation of Sarajevo after World War II. Also, this was the first solemn session of the Council of the City of Sarajevo that is held in the City Hall.

At the beginning of last year’s ceremony, Mixed Chamber Choir Lola performed the anthem of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after which presents could see a clip from the show “Cheerful night in Sarajevo“ by Dubravka Zrncic Kulenovic, that was performed at the scene by actors from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo.

Chairman of the City Council, Suljo Agic, opened a solemn session, after which present ones paid tribute to fallen soldiers and civil war victims who lost their lives in the defense of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, by a minute of silence.

Journalist and publicist Florence Hartmann and the professional politician from Barcelona, Manel Vila Motllo, were named honorary guests of the City of Sarajevo.

Recognition Plaque of the City of Sarajevo went to Mustafa Hajrulahovic Talijan and the Association Sarajevotaxi.

Collective 6th April award was given to the Association of murdered children of besieged Sarajevo. Group 6th April award was given to Jim Marshall and Timothy Tim Clancy for spreading a positive image of Sarajevo and BiH. Individual 6th April went to the painter Safet Zec.
