Bosnian paraswimmers achieved historic success at the European Senior Championships in Kocaeli, Turkey, where national team members Ismail Barlov and Ismail Zulfić won medals, set personal and national records, and earned A standards for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games.
Current Paralympic vice-champion Ismail Barlov won a bronze medal in the 150-meter individual medley (SM3 class).
Barlov swam the distance in 3:19.45, setting a new personal and national record. This result also earned him an A standard for the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
Ismail Zulfić had an equally successful performance, winning bronze in the 50-meter backstroke.
After achieving the fourth best time in the qualifications, Zulfić recorded a result of 36.25 in the final race, which is also his new personal and national record, as well as fulfilling the A norm for the Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
