Representatives of BBI Bank, School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo and Bolton University from Great Britain have signed the Memorandum on cooperation today in Sarajevo. With this memo, B&H students will have the opportunity to obtain equally the diploma of the School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo and a diploma of the Bolton University, through practical classes and work at the BBI Bank and attending seminars of the BBI Academy. The Dean of the School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo, Željko Šain said that this is the oldest School of Economics and Business in B&H and that it always tries to be at the top when it comes to science and practice, which requires collaboration and acquiring knowledge from around the world.
He also emphasized that the development of Islamic banking is the duty of the faculty with such a long tradition and he expressed his hope that the School of Economics and Business in Sarajevo will become regional leader in this area.
The director of BBI Bank, Amer Bukvić said that BBI Bank is actively searching for different experiences and practices in the field of Islamic banking which has been practiced in B&H for the past ten years. He also emphasized that it is an alternative shape of banking which is credited in the world and is now more valued in B&H.
The President of Bolton University and the member of the House of Lords in the British Parliament, the Baroness Patricia Morris said that Islamic banking, as a faculty course, would fit perfectly into the educational system of Bolton University. She also highlighted the fact that with this cooperation in the field of education we are ” building bridges between cultures and erasing all prejudice.”
