Sarajevo is again the most polluted capital in the world this morning.
According to AirVisual, the air quality index at 8:00 o’clock this morning was 484, posing a health hazard.
Delhi, Kabul and Canberra are the following cities, but, it should be noted that the air in the Australian capital, Canberra, has also been polluted by the catastrophic wildfires.
At the same time, the Eco Action Association issued a warning to residents of Sarajevo about unhealthy air in the city. “This kind of air can cause serious consequences for the entire population! Any effort should be avoided during your stay outside.”
The most vulnerable categories of the population are pregnant women, the elderly and children, people with respiratory and cardiac problems, and they should remain indoors.
At an emergency telephone session of the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the alert was issued over air pollution.
The Expert Body for Coordination and Supervision of the Intervention Plan for Excessive Air Pollution in the Canton of Sarajevo proposes to Canton Sarajevo Government to keep the second episode “alert” in force in all zones.
Another reason is the fact that, according to the weather forecast of the Federal Meteorological Institute, the weather is expected to change on Tuesday, with precipitation and low winds.
