Today’s activities and meetings in New York, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović started with a conversation with the Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia to the UN Sarah Safyn Fyneah, Bećirović’s office in Sarajevo announced.

Just a few days before the vote in the UN General Assembly, Bećirović pointed out the importance of adopting the resolution on July 11 as an international day of remembrance and commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica committed in 1995.

During the meeting with the ambassador of Liberia, he pointed out that the adoption of the resolution represents a civilized act of solidarity with the victims of genocide and their families. He emphasized that there is no legal, political, moral or historical reason for any country in the world not to vote for the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.

The resolution is in the interest of all humanity and its messages are universal. Its adoption will send a message about the importance of building sustainable peace, preventing genocide and educating young generations in the spirit of tolerance and togetherness, said Bećirović.

The conversation with the Ambassador of Liberia, Sarah Safyn Fyneah, is just one of a series of meetings that the chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, will hold in New York as part of intensive activities with the aim of adopting the resolution on July 11 as an international day of remembrance and commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica committed in 1995.
