On the occasion of the statement of BiH Presidency Chair Željka Cvijanović on the declaration of two conclusions in the BiH Presidency as very harmful to the vital interests of the Republika Srpska, the Cabinet of BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović announced that the declaration of the vital interest of the RS is against regional processes cooperation and EU integration.

“BiH Presidency Chair, Željka Cvijanović, declared the Conclusion for the adoption of the Action Plan for fulfilling 14 key priorities from the European Commission’s Opinion on BiH’s Request for EU membership, the Conclusion for the urgent adoption of the Agreement on Freedom of Movement with Identity Cards in the Western Balkans, the agreement on the recognition of professional qualifications of doctors of medicine, doctors of dental medicine and architects in the context of the Central European Free Trade Agreement and the Agreement on the recognition of higher education qualifications in the Western Balkans as very harmful to the vital interests of the RS and it is against the processes of regional cooperation and EU integration,” the Cabinet stated.

It was pointed out that the participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the cooperation with the countries of the Western Balkans within the framework of the Berlin process resulted in projects that had numerous effects on economy and the daily life of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries of the region.

“By adopting the conclusions at the 6th session of the BiH Presidency (June 21, 2023) with the aim of enabling freedom of movement with identity cards in the Western Balkans, and bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to the EU by adopting the Action Plan for the implementation of 14 key priorities, the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina would have the opportunity to use the benefits of the Berlin process. Also, the cooperation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with neighboring countries would be further strengthened,” the Cabinet said.

In the statement, it was emphasized that all the countries of the Western Balkans, including Serbia, have already accepted and ratified all three agreements from the Berlin process, which are now disputed for the representatives of the BiH entity RS, which they consider absurd, announced the Cabinet of BiH Presidency member, Denis Bećirović.
