On the occasion of today’s statements by the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik about the state property of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović addressed the public and said that “no more lies and deceptions about state property will be allowed”.
Bećirović, among other things, said that the BiH Constitution resolved the dilemma.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina is a state, the RS is an entity within the state. State property belongs to the state just as it belongs to every other state in the world. There is no state without state property,” said Bećirović, and he mentioned the Agreement on succession issues of the former SFRY.
“The international agreement was concluded in Vienna in 2001, and came into force after its ratification by all successor states in 2004. BiH ratified that international agreement in 2002. According to that international agreement, state property belonged to the state of BiH”.
Bećirović emphasizes that “Dodik must stop lying to the people of RS and finally tell the truth”.
“It is an irrefutable fact that Annex A of the Succession Agreement clearly establishes that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the owner of the real property of the former SFRY that was located on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Nowhere in that international agreement are entities mentioned as heirs to that property, nor the lower levels of government in our country. These are facts that must be known by the people of the RS entity and all of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Enough of Dodik’s lies and deceptions,” said Bećirović.
Bećirović pointed out that it was decided in Dayton that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina makes final and binding decisions.
“The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has decided that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the heir of the state property of the Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” he emphasized.
As he says, these are arguments that no amount of noise from separatist politicians can hide.
“And as for Dodik’s threats to the state, I publicly tell him to forget them. Majority and patriotic Bosnia and Herzegovina is not afraid of Dodik or his henchmen. If this country depended on Dodik, it would not exist for a single day, but at all happiness does not depend on him. This country depends on the vast majority of us who have only one choice and that choice is called Bosnia and Herzegovina. That is why we will defend our homeland with all available legal, democratic and other legal means, just as every other member of the United nation. Millions of us in the country and abroad will never allow the destruction of our homeland. Never and at any cost,” said Bećirović, Fena reports.
