The meeting was attended by the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Matthew A. Valas, the Head of the Department for Support of Political Engagement of the NATO Headquarters, Ambassador Vladimir Vucinic, and the Political Advisor at the NATO Headquarters, Dragana Vesovic.

“The interlocutors concluded that holding the NATO Partnership Symposium 360 in Sarajevo is a confirmation of the successful cooperation and partnership between NATO and BiH. It was pointed out that the goal of the NATO Partnership Symposium 360 is to strengthen the community of partners and improve the unity, joint action and efforts of NATO and partners. Pointing out the importance of this event, it was emphasized that it will advance the understanding of the global security environment and explore the trends and needs that are most important for improving the relations between NATO and its partners,” the statement said.

During the conversation, Becirovic emphasized “BiH‘s firm commitment to intensifying the NATO integration process, in accordance with the Law on the Defense of BiH and other strategic documents.” He emphasized that the key strategic goals of BiH are full membership in NATO and the European Union (EU). Becirovic said that BiH‘s membership in NATO would strengthen security in our country, as well as in the region.

Javier Colomina emphasized NATO’s commitment to preserving security and stability in BiH. In this context, the importance of continued cooperation and partnership between BiH and NATO was emphasized.

“BiH Presidency Chairman Denis Becirovic said that the support of the NATO headquarters in Sarajevo is extremely important for the strengthening of the institutions of BiH, the continuation of reforms in the defense and security sectors, as well as for the preservation of security and stability in BiH. He also expressed his willingness to work together on the implementation of the BiH Reform Program in the future as well. Becirovic also recalled the meeting he had this year with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the headquarters of the strongest military-political organization in the world.
