Becirovic: We all know what would happen if the International Community leaves BiH

The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, addressed the audience at the reception in the City Hall on the occasion of BiH Independence Day on Wednesday.

At the beginning of the speech, he expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who, in a legal and internationally recognized referendum, decided that our country should be independent, sovereign and unique, as well as to the anti-fascists who defended the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Behind us is the long and eventful past of our country. Let us be proud of the first 1,075 years since the country of Bosnia was mentioned. After this millennial journey, we cannot go back, we must only go forward. We have a European and European future ahead of us. Deviating from that path had would have fatal consequences. That is why I consistently and everywhere insist on implementing the adopted strategic foreign policy goals. I don’t do this by accident, this is how we protect the security of our people and the country in the best way,” said
Denis Bećirović at the reception on March 1 – BiH Independence Day.

He reminded that BiH is a full member of the UN, the Council of Europe, the OSCE and a country that is at the door of the EU and NATO alliances.

“These are indisputable facts that the separatists must be aware of. They must finally understand that the entities will never have and have never had international subjectivity. According to the provisions of international and national law, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a state. Its constructive elements are state territories, population and sovereign power. They are contained in the term state – the term by which BiH is determined in the international and national order,” he added.

He also reminded that those who thought they could create a state within the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina despite all democratic principles, ended up as criminals, and that most of them are in prison today or have left this world branded.

“This is how all those who eventually try to follow in their footsteps will end up,” he said.

As he added, national holidays are an opportunity to initiate concrete steps aimed at strengthening statehood and independence. That is why he initiated two proposals tonight.

“Firstly, as there is a House of the Bosnian language in Tuzla, I suggest that we open houses of the Bosnian language in every municipality or city where it is possible. Second, let’s look at the positive example from Cazin, where the Museum of the Bosnian Kingdom was opened. I suggest that we also open that in to every state or city where it is possible. Let’s do everything in our power to make our country stronger and safer. We tell well-intentioned people that we should protect BiH together. We tell malicious people, who have not given up on illusory big-state projects, that they will have impenetrable in us rampart. So, with friends in a friendly manner, with enemies as they deserve,” he said.

He asked why separatist-oriented politicians are bothered by the presence of the international community, why they are against foreigners in the Commission for National Monuments, why they are against foreign judges in the Constitutional Court, why they are against the high representative, why they attack the ambassadors of Western and other countries that respect BiH.

“Nothing is accidental – those who advocate it have dangerous intentions towards BiH. It is not true that the leaders of the BiH entity RS are bothered by the presence of foreigners. It is true that they want to strengthen the influence of Russia and weaken the influence of the West and the free democratic world. That is why the president of BiH . of the RS entity studied “the whole world needs Putin’s humane approach in order to curb the freakish, liberal West and the EU, which has fallen into cultural regression”.

There is no doubt, the leaders of the BiH entity RS are working according to Moscow’s instructions and their common goal is to remove Euro-Atlantic influence from BiH and block everything that leads our country towards a functional democracy,” he said.

He explained what would happen if the international community withdrew.

“We all know the answer. Again the same policies would threaten the peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. That is why we must openly and argumentatively expose the hypocritical and dangerous policy. We became a candidate country for EU membership in December 2022. We expect the opening of negotiations soon. We are in the heart of Europe and our place is in the EU,” he adds.

He says that BiH is at the door of the NATO alliance.

“That is our national, legal and political commitment. We have a full consensus on NATO and it was achieved in the competent state bodies. It can only be changed where it was established and voted, not in the non-competent, entity government bodies. NATO is safe a port for all people in BiH that guarantees peace, security and economic development,” he added.

In the end, he said that there is no more important issue than the issue of preserving the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“May loyalty and devotion to Bosnia and Herzegovina be in the first place. Happy Independence Day,” said Bećirović, Klix.ba writes.
