BH Border Police registers Over One Million Crossings in the First Six Months

In the first six months of this year, the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina registered the crossing of 11,134,811 persons across the BiH border, of which 5,512,378 at the entrance and 5,604,433 at the exit.

Compared to the same period last year, the turnover of persons decreased by 540,060 persons or 4.63 percent, it was said in the BiH Border Police.

5,458,867 vehicles crossed the BiH border, which is 0.06 percent less than in the same period last year.

In the first half of the year, members of the BiH Border Police recorded 64 criminal acts of forgery of documents.

37 official reports were submitted to the competent prosecutor’s offices, with 62 natural persons reported.

18 citizens of BiH, 19 of Turkey, six of Serbia, three of Austria, two of Slovenia and one of the United Arab Emirates, and one person each from Croatia, Palestine, Algeria, China, Poland, Afghanistan, the Russian Federation, Ethiopia and Guinea were reported for these crimes, as well as three unidentified persons.

The report on the work of the BiH Border Police for the first six months states that 140 documents were temporarily seized in 93 cases, of which 92 documents at the entrance to BiH and 48 documents at the exit from BiH that are suspected to have been falsified, which is an increase for 55 documents or 64.71 percent compared to the same period last year, when 85 documents were seized.

Due to the illicit trade of various types of goods and evasion of customs supervision, 19 official reports were submitted to the competent prosecutor’s offices for 27 criminal offenses, for which 40 persons were reported – 37 BiH citizens, a Montenegrin citizen and two unidentified persons of unknown citizenship.

In the first six months, 111,942 boxes of cigarettes, 192 kilograms of cut tobacco, as well as certain quantities of textile and technical products were temporarily seized.

The estimated value of temporarily seized goods from criminal offenses is 639,727.94 BAM.
