The company of machines and hydraulics “Bratstvo” from Novi Travnik (BNT-TmiH) will start with the production of a prototype of their new howitzer, which will have the 155-mm calibre and its range will be 50 kilometers.
This company produced the first modern artillery weapon after the war in the year of 2016, which was a 155-mm calibre howitzer with the range of up to 40 kilometers, and a total mass of 20 tons. This company recently completed testing period, and there is already a large number of foreign companies that are interested to purchase this modern type of weapon.
The new howitzer, whose realization is about to start, will cost 2 million BAM (1 million EUR) and its range will be 50 kilometers, which is 10 kilometers more than the already existing one, according to Nermin Dzindic, Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry in the Government of FBiH. He believes that it will be realized very soon.
“The new howitzer will have the same calibre, 155 millimetres, but it will have a much larger range. We already have a large number of interested customers for our first howitzer,” stated Minister Dzindic.
