Minister of Foreign Affairs of B&H Zlatko Lagumdžija and President of Football Association Elvedin Begić signed today a Protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of B&H and the Football Association of B&H.
The Protocol will coordinate the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of B&H and the Football Association within the preparation for the World Championship in Brazil 2014. A diplomatic Consular Detachment, which is a temporary diplomatic facility of B&H titled BH House will open within this cooperation in Brazil.
Lagumdžija, in a statement for the media after signing the protocol said that the Council of Ministers of B&H adopted the initiative of the Ministry to ensure necessary means for the temporary consulate of B&H in Brazil. Considering that 3.000-5.000 citizens of B&H are expected to be in Brazil, Minister Lagumdžija said that the primary function of the BH house will be providing legal protection and consular services to B&H citizens.
“The idea is for the BH house to be used even for the promotion of the economic and tourist potentials of B&H, but also for business and political meetings that will strengthen the relations of B&H with other countries present in Brazil. We expect the Foreign Trade Chamber and companies from B&H to jointly operate and for this to be an opportunity for the promotion of the economy. The best ambassadors of our economy is our football representation and they did the most for this country”, stated Lagumdžija.
There is not yet specific information in regards to the location of the BH house, said Lagumdžija, adding that most probably it will be at the place where will the first match will be held.
