Preparations of Energoinvest’s ‘First Women’s Expedition Andes 2014’, with the climb on the highest peak in Peru Huaskaran at 6.768 m above sea level, is taking place on B&H mountains.
Preparations in the last month have especially intensified and are implemented according to the plan of the expedition leader Dragan Ilić Blacky.
‘’So far, we have passed the five preparatory tours on the mountains of Bjelašnica, Prenja, Čvrsnica and Visočica. These include tours of psycho-physical preparations in climbing routes with large differences in altitude and with heavy burdens on backs in good and bad weather conditions, which are good for training for mental endurance.
‘’We are realizing the technical preparations also such as the alpine climb to the top of the Green Prenj, climbing a gully using mountaineering equipment, making stands and securing partners’’, said to Fena member of the expedition Hasna Smječanin.
He added that they had to climb Josip’s trail on Bjelašnica under very bad weather conditions, then climb Hranisava Ljubovčić, the climb to Zelena Glava on Prenj, Pločno on Čvrsnica, and the ridge on Subar-Vito on Visočica.
The training will continue with the same intensity, setting higher demands on the members of the expedition regarding psycho-physical stamina and technical knowledge.
The organizer of this important project, significant for the recognition of women’s mountaineering in B&H is the mountain ski club ‘Energoinvest’ from Sarajevo. The expedition will be realized during the dry season in the Andes for a duration of one month.
