What BH Parliamentarians and what Citizens of BiH wished for in 2017?

parliamentWill the New Year bring a bunch of new problems and uncertainty or some happier times? We looked at the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and listened wishes of parliamentarians.

Politicians in BiH cannot even mention the wishes without using the key words of the local political speech: the European path, questionnaire, integration, NATO, or war, pardon, conflicts.

“I wish that we start dealing with things for which citizens elected us, and that is solving the problems of citizens – rather than being engaged in cheap politicking topics and dragging this country into a war. Pardon, not in war – but conflicts,” wished Aleksandra Pandurevic, deputy in the PA BiH.

Nikola Spiric, a member of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH said: “I would like to dedicate the next year to love, not hate. If you can rephrase the question.”

There is no doubt, the year of 2016 was marked by numerous moments of conflict on our political scene. As, at least, last twenty years. Few secession, little entity, a little reality until the results of Census, which – as you can guess – some people do not like. However, the new year could be in the sign of an active response to the Questionnaire.

“I expect above all to respond to the Questionnaire of the EC and that we continue with the European path of BiH,” said Nikola Lovrinovic, Member of the PA BiH.

“I want us to get these positive things happening in BiH: progress on the European path, progress on NATO, path in economic reforms that will mean a better standard of living”, said Sefik Dzaferovic, chair of the PA BiH.

And now from the world of ordinary citizens of BiH. First on the wish list of the common public is health. What are the desires of our citizens?

“A lot of happiness and health to everyone. The first health and then everything else, and to get all of their desires fulfilled.”

And what are their expectations from the politicians?

“Well, we expect … We do not expect anything from them. Just to leave so that we can solve our problems.”

And citizens of BiH have a lot of problems. Let’s hope that they will be solved in the upcoming year.
