Students of Faculty of Law at the University of Zenica qualified among the 16 best teams in the world at the recently held International “Vis-moot” competition for young law students.
This was the very first time for the team from a faculty of law from BiH, as well as Balkans, managed to qualify to final round of this prestige competition.
A total of 357 teams from the entire world took part at the competition that was held in Vienna, and team of future lawyers from Zenica included: Lejla Bosnjak, Selma Saric, Lejla Ridzalovic, Jasmina Sadriji and Azem Ahmic, together with their mentors Prof. Dr. Zlatan Meskic and assistant Igor Rima. They qualified among the best in the world after eliminating last year winners of “Vis-moot” competition from Ottawa.
“I am proud that we managed to occupy the 9th place amongst 357 teams at this competition after four years of extremely hard work and that our students were simply brilliant, even in situations for which I could not prepare them. Therefore, I am very proud of them. They won against teams from the largest universities in the world with multi-million budgets simply with their arguments, performance, professional attitude and preparation, which was extremely long and difficult, and that is why I am very proud of these students,” said Zlatan Meskic.
Students of the Faculty of Law at the University of Zenica were preparing for the final competition in Vienna for ten months, with the aim to qualify for the final round.
