B&H will Lead the Convention for Police Cooperation of SEE Countries

Komitet ministara PCC SEEB&H at today’s meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Convention for police cooperation of SEE countries took over the Presidency of the Convention from the Republic of Austria. B&H will lead the convention for a period of 18 months along with Hungary and Bulgaria.

Deputy Minister of Security of B&H Mladen Ćavar, who led the B&H delegation at the meeting in Bucharest, presented the priorities of B&H during the six-month presidency of the Convention, starting from January next year, noting that B&H will try to use all the opportunities in order that the Convention as much as possible to be applicable in practice.

“Our goal is to increase operational police cooperation, but also to raise awareness and knowledge on the strategic level at the law enforcement agencies and prosecutors offices about its importance and opportunities that provides in the joint fight against all forms of crime”, stated Ćavar.

Among the priorities are the signing of a protocol on cross-border surveillance between member states, improvement of police cooperation between educational police institutions and the continuation of work on the Expert networking for cross-border supervision for South Eastern Europe.
