B&H Will Open Consular Office in Rio de Janeiro During World Cup

rio-2B&H will open a temporary consular office in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in order to ensure the adequate provision of consular services in Brazil to B&H citizens during the World Cup, confirmed to Anadolija Zoran Perković, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International and Consular Affairs.

‘’Given the fact that B&H does not have diplomatic and consular missions in South America, and since Brazil is a big country, we agreed that, in addition to a temporary consular office of B&H in Rio de Janeiro, consular services to B&H citizens during the World Cup would be provided by other countries’’, said Perković.

The General Consulate of the Republic of Turkey in Sao Paolo will provide consular services to B&H citizens during the World Cup, and the Embassy of Serbia in Brazil will provide the same services.

The agreement on mutual consular services and protection to citizens in other countries as a form of cooperation is particularly evident in countries where one country does not have its diplomatic and consular mission, and there is a need for urgent consular assistance.
