Biden in Zagreb novilist.hrThe Vice-President of the USA Joe Biden, special guest of the presidential summit Brdo-Brijuni which gathered leaders of Southeastern Europe countries, stated that this region has been of particular interest for the USA during the past 25 years.

“For the USA and me personally, and I also speak on behalf of the American President, this region has been of exceptional interest for the past 25 years,” Biden said during his stay in Zagreb.

According to Biden, regional initiative Brdo-Brijuni is doing a good job since in five past years it manages to gather all leaders for discussions.

A diplomatic veteran, the 73-year-old Biden is an expert for Eastern Europe.

“I was here while Tito was still alive, and then Tuđman. Now you know how old I am,” Biden joked. Namely, Biden was a guest at the summit of the countries of Southeastern Europe which was held yesterday in Zagreb.

The meeting was chaired by the Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor.
