The BiH Border Police is continuously taking measures and activities in the fight against illegal migration, and since the beginning of 2021 it has prevented 3,600 illegal border crossings, said BiH Border Police Director Zoran Galic, at a video conference of EU and Balkan border police directors.

A video conference of the directors of the border police of the EU and the Balkans was held on July 22, 2021, at the initiative of the President of the Federal Police, Dr. Dieter Romann.

The videoconference was held with the aim of exchanging information on the challenges of illegal migration and organized cross-border crime at the highest professional level.

The videoconference exchanged data and information on taking measures related to illegal migration and more effective protection of state borders.

Director of the BP BiH Zoran Galic pointed out that the BiH Border Police is continuously taking measures and activities in the fight against illegal migration:

"The migrant crisis is a global problem and it is necessary to take continuous measures to prevent illegal border crossings. Since the beginning of 2021, members of the BiH Border Police have deterred more than 3,600 people from attempting to cross the state border illegally.

"Since the very beginning of the migrant crisis, the BiH Border Police has been redeploying human resources and hiring police officers from other police agencies to parts of the border where the migratory pressure is greatest, and is performing increased surveillance of the state border," Galic said.
