Chief Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić, together with the Head of the Section for Terrorism, prosecutor Ivana Petković and an associate, met with the Acting Principal Deputy Coordinator of the Bureau of Counterterrorism at the United States Department of State, Hillary Batjer Johnson, as well as officials in this field and experts engaged in the fight against terrorism, announced the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.

Representatives of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office introduced the guests to the work and activities of the Department for Terrorism, including the achieved results and efforts within the Strike Group for the fight against terrorism, which gathers officials of law enforcement institutions and agencies from all levels in BiH, headed by the chief prosecutor.

Officials from the United States of America were informed about the activities carried out in the prosecution of defendants for participation in the foreign battlefields of Syria and Iraq, the activities in the direction of de-radicalization of those persons and those close to them, as well as the return and prosecution of the remaining citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who are in that area.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the partner institutions of the United States have active and good cooperation in the prosecution of cases of terrorism and the threat of terrorism and radicalism, especially in the area where international cooperation was needed in the fight against these criminal acts, which are particularly harmful to the safety of citizens and the rule of law.
