file i bevandaChairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda met yesterday in Sarajevo with the Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule. They spoke about the realization of the Road Map that was agreed on in Brussels.

Chairman Bevanda recalled that of the 26 goals, they fulfilled 24 of them through continuous work in a very short time.

He also expressed regret that the remaining two goals have not yet been agreed on and implemented, and expressed hope that in the next period a solution would be found for the implementation of the “Sejdić-Finci” ruling, as well as the establishment of an effective mechanism of coordination so the Stabilization and Association Agreement would enter into effect and BiH would get the chance to submit a credible application for EU membership.

Commissioner Fule said that the implementation of the ruling is of vital importance for the EU and that it is a requirement that would be considered for EU membership.

They also discussed the progress of the implementation of the census, problems related to increasing IPA funds and of Croatia’s forthcoming entry to the EU.

They agreed that all these problems related to realizing the goals have to be resolved and that there is no other alternative, and that for BiH and for the EU it is important to start with a more efficient and urgent solving of the problems.

The meeting was attended by the Special Representative of the EU and Head of the EU Delegation to BiH Peter Sorensen, Director of the General Directorate for Enlargement of the European Commission Stefano Sannino and Ambassador Igor Davidović, Head of the BiH Mission to the EU.
