Members of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), who participated in the April session of the PACE, held a meeting in Strasbourg with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunja Mijatović.

Members of the BiH PA Delegation Saša Magazinović, Darijana Filipović, Sabina Ćudić and Branislav Borenović discussed with Commissioner Mijatović the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with special reference to legal solutions that are being prepared, the implementation of which in BiH could be in conflict with the provisions European Convention on Human Rights.

Commissioner Mijatović also stressed the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina still has not appointed its members to several committees and bodies of the Council of Europe.

During the second part of the PACE regular session, Commissioner Mijatović presented her work report for  2022, and answered the questions of the PACE members.

In the presentation of the annual report, the major part of which is devoted to serious violations of human rights in war conflicts, Commissioner Mijatović pointed out that there was a significant setback in the protection of human rights in Europe in 2022 and that it is necessary to renew the commitment to the protection of human rights with the aim of this negative trend to stop.
