The thermal energy production system from Block 6 of the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant for the district heating of Tuzla and Lukavac has been in the test phase since April 25.
The realization of this project created the prerequisites for the expansion of the heating networks in the cities of Tuzla and Lukavac and the connection of the heating network of the city of Živinica to the Tuzla TPP.
For this purpose, during the last year, the reconstruction of the turbine was carried out and a heating steam pipeline was built between the turbine of Block 6 and the thermal station of Block 4.
After the test phase, there will be a trial run, which will serve the purpose of performing the final checks of the entire system.
The total value of the project is about 22 million KM and after the revitalization of the boiler of Block 6, which will be realized during 2023, Block 6 of Tuzla TPP will be enabled for safe exploitation in the next 15 years.
The project was implemented with the turbine manufacturer GE Poland and domestic companies, and the built system for the production of thermal energy is significantly more efficient compared to the existing systems on Blocks 3 and 4 of the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant.
In addition to the mentioned projects, it is necessary for Tuzla TPP to build a gas desulphurization system (ODP) on Block 6, which will fulfill obligations in accordance with the NERP (National Emissions Reduction Plan) and bring Block 6 into a state of improved energy efficiency and ecological acceptability, in accordance with European directives in the field of environmental protection, stated the public enterprise Elektroprivreda BiH.
